Sécheron’s Electrical Safety Solutions business unit offers a broad range of service proven high-speed DC circuit breakers, disconnectors and contactors for DC traction power substations supplying thousands of kilometers of railway and mass transit networks worldwide. Working closely with DC switchgear manufacturers and operators in Germany since decades, we attach great importance to finding the best solutions and offering the best service for our customers.
Our components and solutions are the result of a long-standing corporate culture and expertise in switching and safety that spans more than 70 years. Combining simplicity of design with few moving parts, intensive testing during the development and production phases, and a high safety margin on the performances proposed to our customers, our products are highly valued by operators for their high reliability and very low maintenance requirements over their complete life cycle.

Beside its flagship product the DC Switchgear type MBS equipped with its control and protection unit SEPCOS, Sécheron’s Traction Power Systems business unit has developed unique skills that allow us to offer a wide range of reliable and proven equipment for substations including various types of converters such as diode rectifiers, thyristor controlled rectifiers, thyristor and IGBT inverters or reversible converters as well as innovative software tools for stray current monitoring systems SCMS, local SCADA KEOPS and protective hybrid negative grounding device VGUARD.
Sécheron’s DC equipment has been successfully installed and used in several projects in Germany: HHA Hamburger Hochbahn, KVB Kölner Verkehrsbetriebe , LVB Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe, VGF Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt am Main, DVB Dresdener Verkehrsbetriebe , VBK Verkehrsbetriebe Karlsruhe, SWA Stadtwerke Augsburg und VAG Nürnberg.
